About

The 81stColumn was a feature of IBM VDU’s in the days when  everything was mainframe. Designed to show all screen characters in full, it couldn’t be programmed and therefore was blamed for many “glitches”. As for the blog, well I’ve tried writing before and no one read it. The aim this time is to build an occasional repository of things that don’t fit on Twitter. As for me, I’m an Educator, burgeoning feminist, parent and I work in Social/Health Science stuff. A wee but Aspie, I sometimes won’t get it and say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I will apologise for my privilege and for my many mistakes, but not for who I am.
